ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Yvon Augustin is a designer and illustrator who lives in Roxbury, Massachusetts. He combines a powerful imagination with a keen eye, as an artist and a designer. He has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and an ssociate’s degree in Architectural Design, both from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Yvon has illustrated a number of books, including Kindergarten with Charlie by Thamanai Jeremie and No Time for Storytime, inspired by his daughter’s imagination and love of bedtime stories, which he wrote and illustrated. He is currently writing and illustrating his new book, No Time for surprises.

Jenna and Orla made their parents so proud by doing chores, cleaning their rooms, and making their beds every day. Their parents promised them a big birthday party with fancy decorations, games, snacks and a huge cake. Jenna and Orla could hardly wait!
On the big day, a major thunderstorm came. Suddenly, their friends and family couldn’t come to the party. The girls looked out the window at the pouring rain, feeling sad.
Just when things seemed gloomy, there was a knock at the door. It was their aunt and two cousins, carrying board games, cupcakes, and snacks. Soon, the living room was filled with laughter and cheer. They played silly games, told funny stories, and even had a talent show.
By the end of the day, Jenna and Orla realized they had an awesome time, even though the party didn’t go as planned. They learned that sometimes the best moments happen when you least expect them—and that being with people you love is the best part!
